Project 1 - The Bench Case

Project 1 - The Bench Case

In this image you can see an empty bench alongside an unaccompanied suitcase. I took this photograph because I think that it connotes loneliness with the bench and suitcase both being surrounded by nothing but empty space.

Project 1 - A Bench or Two

This photograph has nicely captured multiple benches in a neat line, stretching from the foreground to the background of the shot. I feel like this shot represents unity, order and togetherness, with the benches lining up together as if they are a team and as if they are all as one.

Project 1 - 3 is a Magic Number

For me this shot represents community as well as individuality. There are a variety of different objects in this photograph, all of which add their own unique spin and look to the image, just like any person would add and have their own unique effect on a community.

Project 1 - The Benchmark

Project 1 - The Benchmark

A simple photograph of a bench...a bench that can symbolise a variety of different things. This photograph could be seen as a representation of loneliness, with the bench looking unloved, unappreciated and unnoticed. Benches offer rest for the public and can be found almost everywhere, so the photo could also represent comfort and familiarity. The angle and positioning of this photograph further adds to this, as the shot of this bench is very open and displays a welcoming and safe look.

Project 2 - Many Faces of The World

Project 2 - Many Faces of The World

We live in a vastly unique, eccentric and beautiful world, a world with man faces. Like when we walk down a busy street and we see a variety of people with their own unique look and face, the world's landscapes offer the same variety, they are all different. For me, this image represents this. In the foreground you can see a face engraved onto a statue with a snowy, cold landscape sitting in the background.

Project 2 - The Bright Light

Project 2 - The Bright Light

This beautiful photograph shows the sun creeping its light into an otherwise dark and gloomy forest environment.

Project 5 - Bird Watching

This is an interesting shot because I feel that it symbolises the power and control humans have over the world and how our power is affecting and damaging the world for all the other species.

Project 8 - Caged In

For me, this is a very powerful image. For me, this photo represents and sums up the cruel and unfair treatment of animals by humans. This poor hippopotamus can be seen looking up at the camera in anger and it even looks quite sad. When I looked back at this shot, I felt guilty for just taking the shot and being at a safari in the first place. This shot made me contemplate how ethical safari's really are.
