On Monday 5th March we had our assessments and presentations for the non-fiction film project. Although I don't think that I prepared myself well enough, my presentation actually went quite well. However, in reflection, I wish that I had done some more preparation so that my presentation went even better.
On Wednesday 7th March, we had our third 'Anatomy Of An Edit' in the film theatre. Like the previous session, this lecture further highlighted to me how important editing really is.
On Thursday 8th March, we had our fiction project introduction. During this session we were introduced to the project, with Colin detailing us on what it will entail. After sharing and explaining the details of the project, we were shown a variety of screenings for inspiration, which we then discussed as a group. These fiction films were all very impressive and entertaining in their own way and gave me a good idea of what I would need to do to create an effective and impactful fiction film with my partner.
On Friday 9th March, we had a story structure and script writing master class. During this session we discussed and learnt more about story structures, before than having a script writing master class with our lecturers to help us understand how to structure our scripts correctly for this project. This session was very helpful as it allowed me to realise what I was doing wrong with past scripts and I know knew how and what needed correcting in my script writing.
On Saturday 10th March I came up with a fiction film idea and began writing a script for it, using the correct structure I had just been shown.
