This was the deadline day for our green light paperwork, in which me and my crew successfully completed the necessary documents to pass the green light meeting and be able to go ahead with filming. Unfortunately Colin was ill and was unable to meet my crew for our green light meeting, however me and my crew still met up to make sure we had all of the necessary paperwork and to prepare for our shoot the next day. After having a meeting with my crew, I am now confident that we will have a successful and organised shoot.

On Tuesday 13th February, me and my crew went and filmed our non-fiction film, completing the shoot an hour earlier than planned because we were so efficient and had a very successful shoot as a result. This whole day was a brilliant experience and helped me learn a lot as a filmmaker. It was my first shoot as a boom operator and I feel like I did a good job and it was the smoothest shoot I have been part of with me and my crew all being fully switched on and staying professional throughout the day.

From Wednesday to Friday, we began putting together and editing our film. We met on Wednesday to edit as a crew so that we all had a coherent understanding on what our film’s message and structure should be. I then spent a whole day editing on my own and put my own spin on the edit and the film itself. I smoothened out the sound and restructured some of the film and its shots to benefit the film and improve it. This helped me to become even more comfortable and confident as an editor.
